What you need to know
- Razer has teamed up with Epic Games and its hit game Fortnite to produce a new range of themed accessories for PC gamers.
- The range includes the Kraken V3 X headset, DeathAdder V3 Pro mouse, BlackWidow V4 X keyboard and the Goliathus Extended Chroma mouse pad.
- They’re all adorned with special Fortnite-themed paint jobs that look fantastic, and each includes a code for an in-game cosmetic item.
There was a time when I played Fortnite a lot. That’s long gone, but it’s still one of the most popular games in the world, and I’m actually surprised it’s taken this long for this collaboration to come to life.
Razer has partnered with Epic Games to launch a new collaboration of Fortnite-themed PC gaming accessories. And let me tell you, they are HOT. I may not play Fortnite anymore, but this is my favorite design on any of Razer’s hardware so far.
In terms of hardware, there’s nothing different from the regular models Kraken V3 X, DeathAdder V3 Pro, Goliathus Extended Chroma and BlackWidow V4
10/10 Razerđź‘Ź
All four follow the same color scheme, a blue base with yellow accents. But what really stands out is the worn, weathered look it creates. That’s very much my jam. It works so well, and the addition of details like distressed metal and hazard tape just completes the look beautifully.
Sadly, Xbox gamers won’t be able to take advantage of this, as it’s all designed for PC. The USB-powered Kraken V3 X does support PlayStation though, which is a nice bonus if you have one. The headset does have a little added bonus flare on the earcups, featuring Fortnite’s infamous Llama glowing in glorious RGB.
What I’m also impressed with is that Razer has included some of its top products in this partnership. The DeathAdder V3 Pro is the latest and greatest version of the best gaming mouse ever made, and a personal favorite of mine. When I game, I always use a DeathAdder. It’s been that way for years, and it will continue to be that way until Razer stops making them.
The DeathAdder V3 Pro Fortnite Edition is adorned with the blue base, yellow highlights, and that gorgeous distressed metal trimmed with hazard tape look. It just does the business, really.
The BlackWidow V4 This is the full-size BlackWidow V4 X, so you get the numeric keypad on the side, and it’s a wired affair. The one I got had Razer’s yellow switches, which are linear, and probably a good choice for serious gaming.
I haven’t used the latest generation BlackWidow yet, but as a long-term user of previous generations, it’s still one of the absolute best you can get. And in blue, with Razer’s signature Chroma RGB backlighting, it’s never looked better.
And a little shout-out to the Goliathus Extended Chroma. Already a very good mouse pad, and quite large, it will now definitely stand out against everything on your desk.
As an added bonus, each item comes with a code in the box that allows you to add a cosmetic to your in-game collection. Don’t worry, as far as I can tell these aren’t Razer exclusives, they all appear to be cosmetics that were previously sold in the Fortnite in-game store for V-Bucks.
So make sure you don’t get FOMO and certainly don’t chase people who want to give/sell you the codes.
So, what about availability and pricing? All four Fortnite x Razer accessories are available to order starting today, June 27, with the prices listed below:
As you can probably tell, I really like what Razer has done here. But more than that, it’s not limited to just the most affordable products or the most expensive. The offering here includes all-around good gear for gamers of all ages, budgets and requirements.
Sure, the full set still costs a bit, but if you’re a Fortnite fanatic, there’s nothing better.
