A beloved bridal shop, known as Scotland’s best bridal boutique, has announced it is closing down, leaving fans devastated.
That Special Day Bridal, based on Baird Road in Livingston, has served thousands of customers since opening ten years ago.
However, bosses have said the store will close its doors for the final time in the coming months, although an exact date has not yet been announced.
Devastated staff announced the closure to customers in a heartbreaking social media post earlier today.
The bosses indicated that the store had to close due to ‘personal reasons’, but thanked everyone for their support.
All staff have also reportedly lost their jobs during the “very stressful and upsetting time”.
The store owner announced the news on Facebook, saying, “It is with great sadness that I must announce the closing of my store That Special Day Bridal due to personal reasons.
“However, I am so grateful for every customer who has come through our doors and given me and my staff the pleasure of being a part of your special day.
TSD was never just a company, it never just sold a dress. For me and my staff it was so much more than that.

“The memories, the fun and the friendships we have built over the past ten years will stay with us forever.
“With thousands of customers in our database, there are undoubtedly many fond memories to look back on.
“I will never be able to fully comprehend how far we have come with the store and I will always look back on it fondly and be eternally proud of it.
“TSD was never just a company, it was never just about selling a dress. For me and my employees it was so much more than that.
“It was about supporting our customers and helping them accept that they are beautiful and that they can wear the most beautiful dress that suits how beautiful they are, regardless of their size, gender or expectations of others.
“By providing them with a place where they feel safe and unjudged and where they can be themselves, so they can make the right clothing choices.
“It was also about being there for our customers, from the moment they walked into our store until their special day.
“From day 1, our main goal was to deliver the ultimate bridal experience, and while the ‘say yes’ mocktails and all the little extras were beautiful, it was the memories we helped create that are most special to all of us.”
Bosses also revealed that the store is launching a massive closing sale starting this Saturday.
As a plus size bride, looking for dresses was very scary… But I found you at TDS and what an amazing experience you gave me and memories I will cherish forever
Customer with a broken heart
All inventory will be reduced by 30 percent and customers will need an appointment if they want to visit this weekend.
However, prospective brides and grooms who have something in mind no longer need to make an appointment from Tuesday, July 2.
Bosses added: “We are going to be having a liquidation sale and estimate that it will take around 6 to 8 weeks for our stock to sell out, so we will be dependent on you for a few more months.
“We have ALL THE WEDDING DRESSES on sale, bridesmaid dresses, bridesmaid dresses, shoes, bridal accessories, jewelry, tiaras, mother of the bride outfits and much more.
“We ask that you please be patient over the next few days as we begin preparations for the sale that will hopefully start in-store on Saturday, June 29th.
‘DO NOT PANIC’
BOSSES from That Special Day Bridal have confirmed that all orders placed are going ahead as planned.
Employees wrote the following online: “To customers who still have orders… First of all, there is no need to panic.
“Almost all orders are now in the store. You should have been contacted by now to let us know and make an appointment to pick up your order.
‘There are a few customers we haven’t been able to reach or who haven’t responded.
“If you have not yet arranged a collection date, please send us a small message to do so.
“We have about 15 orders in store over the next three weeks.
“Most of them should be in stores by Friday of this week.
“We remain fully committed to fulfilling all orders for our brides, so there is no need to worry if your order is not yet in store, as it will be here shortly.”
“If you already have an appointment, don’t worry, it will go ahead as usual. All stock is being reduced by 30 percent, so if you’ve had your eye on one of our dresses, this is your chance to get it at a great discount.
“The liquidation sale is a walk-in event, but ONLY this Saturday and Sunday we will be by appointment. From Tuesday, July 2 until the end of the liquidation sale we will be by appointment, so no appointment is necessary.
“As you will understand, we will be swamped in the coming days. Please be patient and have a little more patience than usual as we plan and organize the closure while managing current orders.
“In addition, this is a very stressful and sad time for our employees, who have had to hear the sad news that they will be losing their jobs.
“When you call us, please keep this in mind and treat the staff with respect and understanding.
“Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to run TSD for the past 10 years. Always lots of love.”
