Amazon is set to slash hundreds of its online prices this summer in its upcoming July Prime Day Sale, with huge numbers of their most beloved brands available for a fraction of the usual prices. The official date is less than a month away, with the retailer today confirming that the sale will be spread across July 16 and 17.

Everything from Samsonite and Ninja to tech favorites Samsung and Google, and popular beauty brands like Revlon, GHD and Clarins, are all marked down in the sale. Meanwhile, Amazon’s own products, such as its wireless security Ring Doorbells and Alexa devices, will factor into the discounts.

It’s one of the biggest shopping events of the year, with store writers racing to ensure consumers get the most out of it. And the biggest dealbreaker is that, true to its namesake, it’s only available to Prime members.

This means anyone wanting to get a discount will need to sign up for membership, but as always, a little-known consumer tip means you can avoid paying the usual £8.99 monthly fee and get your hands on the sale without spending a penny to pay. It’s all because the retailer’s current 30-day free trial coincides with the start of the two-day sale.

So anyone fancying a Prime Day Sale bargain for summer 2024 can make the most of the free trial without paying the subscription fee. After the one month trial this goes up to the monthly price of £8.99, but you can opt out and leave at your leisure.

Free Amazon Prime Membership

Fancy free pick-up delivery? Access to Deliveroo Plus is one of the many benefits of Amazon Prime membership, including exclusive Prime Day discounts and benefits on Hello Fresh, music, books and Prime Video. Normally £8.99 per month, you can now get a 30-day free trial to access the latest deals.

Even though it’s still a few weeks away, one of the best things about Amazon’s announcement is the wave of earlybird deals that come with it. Right now there are loads of discounts worth keeping an eye on, as we’ve highlighted below.

Best Pre-Prime Day Deals

Before the 2024 Prime Day Sale starts on July 16, these are some of the best discounts to take advantage of. For an abbreviated list, all shoppers should visit the ‘Deals You May Like’ or ‘Today’s Deals’ section of the site.

The current early discounts include hundreds of TVs, including this 44-inch Sony 4K HDR device, which has been reduced from an original £699 to a cheaper £450, while Amazon’s own range of Fire TVs are also discounted. For tech fans, there are valuable price cuts on Google and Samsung devices, including the chic Galaxy Watch 6 Smartwatch.

Beauty fans who love a sale may want to save the official GHD Amazon store , as it’s another brand with price drops at the moment. The Original Hair Straightener is now £105.99, down from the usual £139. Elsewhere, rival brands Dyson and Shark are offering their own sales, making this the perfect time to browse.

Amazon also encourages customers to follow a few tips to find the best prices. After all, thousands of discounts will be launched, which means it can be difficult to find the best rate. The first is setting up deal notifications. This will put all your most searched for products into an alert list, which Amazon will notify you when one goes on sale.

Next, it wouldn’t be a Prime Day sale without promoting the popular “Alexa.” Prime members can also set up deal notifications, add something to their shopping wishlist, or save a deal ‘for later’ just by asking Alexa – useful if you have an Echo Dot, Fire TV, or Echo Show at home.

With the summer price drops in full swing, there are plenty of competing sites that consumers should keep an eye on as well. As well as Amazon. John Lewis has just ended a tech sale, while online beauty retailer LookFantastic is currently offering a 20% discount.
