Logitech today announced the launch of the Keys-To-Go 2, a new portable wireless keyboard designed for tablets and mobile devices like the iPad, working as a lightweight alternative for those who don’t want to invest in Apple’s Magic Keyboard.

The keyboard is designed to work as a standalone device, so it can’t be attached to the ‌iPad‌ and you’ll need to pair it with a stand or smart cover for a Mac-like experience. Available in shades of lilac, light gray, and graphite, the Keys-To-Go 2 measures just under 10 inches long, 4 inches wide, and weighs 7.84 ounces.

There is a built-in cover that protects the keyboard from scratches and spills while traveling. It comes equipped with 1mm travel scissor keys for a comfortable typing experience, and there’s an option to connect to up to three devices and quickly switch between them.

Logitech designed the keyboard with two layouts, including a universal layout and a special Apple layout for iPhones, iPads and Macs. The top row of keys contains several shortcuts for adjusting volume, media playback and screen brightness levels, as well as locking the ‌iPad‌ screen.

The keyboard pairs with an ‌iPad‌ via Bluetooth, and there are replaceable coin cell batteries that Logitech claims will last up to three years, depending on use.

The Keys-To-Go 2 keyboard costs $80 and can be purchased from the Logitech website.
