The Valorant beta on Xbox and PlayStation consoles is launching in select regions for players to test out. Here you will find when and how you can play.
A console port for the PC game has been a long time coming, as Riot has teased it in recent years, posting multiple job openings for game development roles on current-gen hardware.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to sign up, when the beta starts, cards you can play and more.
Beta start date
The The Valorant console beta will begin on June 14, 2024. Riot hasn’t yet confirmed how long it will last and whether or not there will be any downtime between the closed beta and the official release.
Where can you play the beta?
The beta for the console version of Valorant will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe and Japan. The game will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Riot has said it could roll out to other regions around the world shortly after this run ends.
How to sign up for the Valorant console beta
Players can do that see if they qualify for the beta and register for access via the Valorant beta website.
Riot hasn’t yet given a time frame for when it will leave beta and launch fully on consoles. However, when the beta version of the game came to PC, it only took a few months for version 1.0 to be fully released.
Will Valorant have cross-play?
According to a statement provided to Dexerto, Valorant will not have crossplay between console and PC players due to “competitive integrity” reasons. However, if they have the same account, players can connect and share an inventory on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
Progress will also be linked to players’ Valorant accounts and tracked across hardware.
Furthermore, Riot stated that skins and agents will be released simultaneously across the different platforms, including patches and other live service features.
All maps in console beta
Console players will be able to play Rated later via a future patch. The maps below are for Unrated, Swiftplay and Deathmatch modes only:
- 14th of June: Abyss, Ascension, Bind, Haven
- 25 June: Sunset
- July 9: Lotus
- July 23: Icebox
You can continue playing from June 14 Ascent, Bind, Haven and Abyss, the new card in Valorant. Haven was returned to the Valorant card pool via patch 8.11, while Breeze and Split were swapped out.
Riot gamesOn June 25, patch 9.00 starts and brings the Sunset card for console players. This will be followed by Lotus on July 9 and Icebox on July 23. Starting with the 9.0 update, Riot is adding a new map on every patch.
All TDM maps such as District, Kasbah, Piazza and Drift will also be playable. And if you want to play the cards left out of the card pool, head over to the Custom Games section.

Beta players have access to the following game modes in the Valorant console:
- unrated
- Play fast
- Death match
- Team Deathmatch
- Custom games
- Competitive
Competitive mode is coming to consoles in patch 9.0. Console players can also try the newly introduced Basic Training Tutorial: a new training experience that guides you through the basics of gameplay such as shooting, agent skills, match format and more.
