Apple has added a new multicolor swatch to the font and color customization options on the lock screen in iOS 18, so you can now display the time in rainbow colors against your chosen background.
Unlike the other color swatches, the multi-color option currently does not apply to widgets and the date, which turn white when the rainbow effect is applied. However, there’s a good chance that Apple wants to implement this, but hasn’t gotten around to it in the developer beta yet.
With iOS 18, for the first time, users can change the two flashlight and camera shortcuts on the lock screen to an action of their choice.
The ability to change these lock screen controls is part of a wave of new customization features in iOS 18, including abilities to change the color of app icons and more. The first public beta will be released in July, and the official release of iOS 18 is scheduled for the fall.
