The studio, which is in a tight spot, confirmed this aspect of Mrs. Freeze’s character in a July 17 blog post, officially revealing her planned addition to Task Force X.

“Victoria Frias is a stone-cold, self-sufficient survivalist who saw her Elseworld turned to ice when Brainiac invaded,” Rocksteady describes the villain. “By the time we meet her in Season 2, she’s spent years as the last remnant of her dying planet, unwilling to leave her cryogenically frozen wife behind. But after being recruited by the Squad, she may get the chance to save her—and unleash an icy hell.”

And while Mr. Freeze himself won’t be appearing in SS:KTJLRocksteady has confirmed that its Arkham Asylum outfit will be presented as a cosmetic product for sale to its opposite-gender counterpart.

“A number of new outfits will be available in the store throughout the season, most exciting for old-school Rocksteady fans: the Arkham family of outfits,” the developer explained. “These classic looks for Deadshot, Harley, Mrs. Freeze, and The Joker are inspired by iconic designs from the Batman: Arkham games. Each of the outfits comes with awesome swatches, themed around the infamous DC Super-Villains from the Batman: Arkham series, including Solomon Grundy, Two-Face and Ra’s Al Ghul.”

Unfortunately for the curious, at the time of writing Rocksteady has not yet released any preview images showing what Victor’s Arkham outfit, as originally worn by the villain in Arkham Citywill look like when Victoria wears it.

Interestingly enough, the character Mrs. Freeze was previously known as a well-known villain in DC Comics.

Rather than a gender-swapped version of Victor himself, this version is his wife, Nora. Her husband cures her of a life-threatening illness and gives her superpowers by subjecting her to the same treatments that led to his subzero life.

In a further departure from Rocksteady’s objectively lazy “new character” as evidenced by her marriage to Victor, the comic book version of Mrs. Freeze is not a lesbian, nor has she ever been shown to have lesbian tendencies.
