She’s back with a brand new single and a new album – her first music in 10 years – and it’s safe to say a lot has happened for Pixie Lott in that time.

In June 2022, she married her partner of 14 years, model Oliver Cheshire, 36, and in October they welcomed a son, Albert Charles, better known as Bertie.

Pixie, 33, looks happier than ever and credits her true love Oliver with keeping her from going off the rails after she was discovered as a singer at the age of 15.

In a rare conversation about their marriage, she revealed on the My Dirty Laundry podcast that she and Oliver grew up together, but they have completely different love languages.

She said: ‘It’s strange because we’ve been together for so long, but it also feels like it was yesterday.

“I feel like we’ve grown up together. We started dating when I was 19 and I’m 33 now.

We’ve had so many adventures, memories and stories we share, which makes me feel like our roots are so deeply rooted and intertwined.

‘And that is noticeable in a sector that is so hectic and so changeable… that constant factor has really kept me going.

She continued, “So I feel really lucky in that sense. When we first started dating, we were used to crazy schedules and being in different places and different time zones.

“It wasn’t like we got together and didn’t have regular work schedules and then all of a sudden it all changed.

‘So we always knew what to expect, how to get through it. First it was Blackberry Messenger, now it’s WhatsApp, FaceTime, you know, that kind of thing.

“I feel really lucky to have someone by my side. Family is a big thing for me. It always has been and it always will be. So to have Oliver with me – I feel really lucky.”

On how romantic Oliver is, Pixie said: ‘I think they’re a good team because he’s a really great cook. Thank God, because I’m terrible, really, really bad.

In a rare conversation about their marriage, she told the podcast My Dirty Laundry that she and Oliver grew up together, but they have completely different love languages
Pixie released her new single Somebody’s Daughter on June 20 and will release her fourth studio album, Encino, on September 27.

‘Because we started dating so young, it was when I moved into my first apartment, far from my parents’ house, that we started dating.

‘So he always cooked. So it’s actually his fault that I don’t took the kitchen seriously because he was always there.

“He cooks the most delicious meals. We also get a lot of take-out. But yes, he is romantic about cooking the food.”

And about their connection, Pixie said, “There are like seven love languages. There are acts of service, there are words of affirmation, and we actually have different love languages.

“His acts of service and quality time. I feel like I focus on the words of affirmation. I say a lot of things, but I don’t know if that’s really his love language.

“I don’t know if he really cares that much, but I do say nice things.”

Pixie has said that motherhood has made her feel better equipped to be more autobiographical on this album, Encino, because she’s learned not to sweat the small stuff.

The singer rose to fame at the age of 18 when her debut single Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) hit number one in 2009 – pictured that year – but she had been discovered three years earlier
Pixie has said she loved seeing Rihanna’s fashion sense when she was pregnant and thinks she’s just gorgeous
She also said that fellow mother Jessie J has been very kind and honest with her about motherhood and has given her lots of tips – (pictured, Jessie with her son, Sky)

It took five years to write, because she wanted to make sure every text was perfect, but the pandemic slowed down the writing a bit.

But she is extremely happy to be back in the spotlight and doing what she does best.

She said: ‘I was inspired by a bunch of other stars who are also mothers and do everything. I mean, Rihanna is amazing. And Jessie J and Ellie Goulding.

‘Jessie has been so amazing in her role as a new mother and in the music industry.

‘Since I’ve had Bertie, she’s helped me with so many tips. Like, “Buy this for the baby.”

‘She’s been so helpful in these nine months. And of course I know she’s just been through it with her little bubba. She’s so “She’s kind and so generous with her time and very helpful, very honest about things and yeah, that’s really great.”

Pixie Lott’s single Somebody’s Daughter is out now. Her album Encino is out September 27th.

She will perform the songs for the first time at London’s Hoxton Hall on July 11.
