Dead By Daylight fans have an exciting month ahead of them. Starting in July 2024, BeHaviour Interactive has released a new Waterfront Massacre Collection of skins. This collection features Adam Francis and Gabriel Soma, but the most love within the community is directed at Sable Ward. The The DBD community is clearly loving the new Sable Ward skinand it reminds Dead by Daylight fans of an old quote from BeHaviour Interactive, which explains why the game is so obsessed with feet.
BeHaviour Interactive has shared Dead By Daylight’s July 2024 roadmap, and there’s a lot for the community to expect. There’s the release of Lara Croft as a survivor, we’re getting Tome 20, and there will also be a limited-time event for the new 2v8 mode.
All of the above is very exciting, but now players have a new collection of Waterfront Massacre skins to purchase. Sable Ward’s Whimsical Weather outfit is getting the most attention, and DBD fans are sure it will make BeHaviour Interactive a lot of money.
Dead By Daylight fans are loving Sable Ward’s Waterfront Massacre skin
Dead By Daylight released three new Waterfront Massacre Collection skins on July 4th for Adam Francis, Gabriel Soma, and Sable Ward. All of the skins look appealing, and they continue the game’s impressive array of awesome and appealing cosmetics.
While Adam and Gabriel both look great, it’s Sable Ward that fans adore the most. DBD Twitch streamer Bearerine believes the “Sable Bikini cosmetic will single-handedly outshine the Alan Wake paragraph,” and fans unanimously agree that it looks great and will sell extremely well.
It’s an appealing skin because it fits perfectly with the summery aesthetic of Waterfront Massacre while also illustrating Sable Ward’s goth personality. Chapter 31 is one of the best original chapters in the game’s history featuring Sable and The Unknown Killer, and it’s always good when BeHaviour releases fresh cosmetics for newer characters.
Fans have joked lightly upon looking at the skin, “Of course Sable gets barefoot skin right away.” For years, there has been a running gag that Dead By Daylight has a foot fetish. The source of this accusation is the fact that several original female assassins have bare feet: The Nurse, The Huntress, The Hag, The Spirit, The Plague, The Twins, The Artist, and The Onryō.
The Skull Merchant broke the streak of original DBD female assassins exposing their feet, but it’s clear the foot fetish will continue into 2024 with Sable Ward. This brought to light an old quote from BeHaviour Interactive’s lead character artist, explaining why there are so many foot cosmetics: “No, we don’t like feet; if we make more foot cosmetics, it’s because you like feet. Supply and demand, the data doesn’t lie.”
Responding to this still relevant quote, Dead By Daylight fans have pointed the finger at BeHaviour. One comment reads: “They [BeHaviour] she made them [the first five female killers] barefoot before they knew the community liked feet they started doing it the community embraced it”. Another comment reads: “I believe foot cosmetics sell now but I think because there is such a history of feet for standard female Killers I think the fans were drawn to it… Who demanded that Huntress leave her toes out?”.
As noted in the comments, “Sex (or in this case feet) sells, even in DbD”. There is nothing wrong with such skins existing, especially since the Dead By Daylight community is fully aware of, and embraces, how “thirsty” the community is for the many male and female survivors, and even the killers. Just remember that when BeHaviour releases a cosmetic with fully exposed feet, it is the fans who get the blame, because “data doesn’t lie”.
