The Amazon Prime Day sale is coming to an end and while some of the deals that made it into our roundup of the best Prime Day bike deals have already sold out , there are a bunch of great Prime Day Apple deals going around. Leading the way are the ever-popular AirPods wireless in-ear headphones.
There are deals available on the entire AirPods range, including the older AirPods 2, the latest AirPods 3 and the premium AirPods Pro 2. The AirPods Max are also on sale, but we wouldn’t recommend wearing these on the bike. They don’t fit well with a helmet at all, and they’re not well-suited to the sweaty nature of indoor cycling.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 (or 2nd generation) wireless earbuds have been around since 2022, offering more high-end performance than the standard AirPods. In addition to an earbud design that blocks out more ambient noise, the Pro 2 model also features active noise cancellation (ANC).
The AirPods Pro 2 charge via USB-C. That means if you have an iPhone 15, you only need one cable to charge both your phone and your AirPods. The AirPods 2 and 3 both use the older Lightning connector.
While the AirPods Pro 2 allow users to block out the world around them with ANC, one thing I’m a big fan of on this model is the ability to select ‘Transparency’ mode. In this mode, the earbuds will actively let in the sound around you, which can be useful if you like to use your earbuds while driving, or generally just want to be able to hear your surroundings.
A couple of other pro features that I really like are Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness. These features automatically reduce the volume of the media that is playing, so you can chat without having to take the earbuds out.
If you’re on the go a lot, the AirPods Pro 2 can last about six hours on a single charge. However, that drops to 4.5 hours if you’re using them for phone calls, with the case providing about 30 additional hours of battery life.

The second generation of Apple’s AirPods wireless earbuds were released in March 2019. Even though they’re now five years old, they’re still a solid option for anyone looking for truly wireless earbuds.
You charge the AirPods with the included storage case, which uses the somewhat outdated Lightning cable. For most users, this will not be a problem.
For those looking for AirPods on a budget, the AirPods 2 are the brand’s least expensive options. While they lack the features of their more expensive siblings, the AirPods 2 are still a decent option in the wireless earbud market.
The AirPod Pro 2 earbud design isn’t for everyone’s ear shape or taste, and if you don’t mind the lack of active noise cancellation then the standard AirPod 2 might be a better fit for you. The fit of the earbuds is very similar to the old wired earbuds that came with iPods and iPhones back in the day.
They’ve also enabled the Apply Find My feature, so you can find them again if you accidentally put them down somewhere and then can’t remember where that spot was.

Apple’s latest in-ear headphones, due in 2021, have a similar profile to the AirPods 2 but are packed with additional features. The biggest addition is what Apple calls spatial audio, which emulates a surround sound experience, creating the effect of 360-degree sound.
The third-generation AirPods get the choice of traditional Lightning charging or MagSafe wireless charging, depending on your preference. The benefit of the MagSafe option is that it supports both Lightning charging and wireless charging, but it does come at a slight price increase.
One thing to keep in mind if you like to use your earbuds while working out is that the AirPods 3 only have an IPX4 rating. That means they can handle a splash of water, but they might not be the best choice for a rainy day or a summer sweat fest.
