This is a great deal for the bargain hunters among us; the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, our favorite tried-and-true e-reader, has been slashed in price by a good 20 percent. In our review, our tester said it had an elegant design and improved frontlighting, which is now “more subtle and adjustable in terms of warmth and brightness.” Our tester added that, unlike other Kindles, it uses “a newer type of e-ink, which makes for faster page turns and smoother transitions.”

There’s now nearly 40 percent off the Amazon Echo Show 5 , which our tech writer Alex Lee touted in his review as the best Amazon Echo for the bedroom . “The sound is leaps and bounds better than the previous model, with more thumping bass and louder volume,” he said. It’s also “fun to use as a digital photo frame,” he added, explaining that its new chipset makes it faster than ever.

Here’s a brilliant deal on a Kindle e-reader for young bookworms. The Kindle Kids (2022 release) has been slashed in price to £79.99, a 24 percent discount. This model is essentially the same as the original Kindle and Paperwhite, but also comes with a protective case and a two-year warranty. “Best of all, every model includes a one-year subscription to Kids+, which is designed for children aged three to 12 and gives access to over 1,000 titles, plus over 100 audiobooks,” our tester explained in their review .

Now reduced to under £50, they’re said to be comfortable and water-resistant, while offering premium sound and fast charging for up to 15 hours of playtime (with the charging case).
Fire TV 55in omni QLED series 4K UHD smart TV: was £749.99, now £429.99, Amazon.co.uk

With a near-perfect four and a half out of five stars in our best gifts for 5-year-olds round-up , our tester said this is “perfect for keeping kids entertained on long journeys”. Not only is it much more affordable than an Apple iPad, but it also comes with a durable, drop-proof and shatter-proof case, plus a two-year warranty, for extra peace of mind.
Hailed as a “brilliant and affordable” entry point into home security cameras in our tried-and-true review , the Blink mini has been slashed 36 percent off, thanks to this early Amazon Prime Day deal. The indoor camera was easy to set up via the Blink app, according to our tester, and had “all the essential features you could want in an indoor camera, including two-way talk.” Plus, you can customize motion detection zones to monitor specific areas and have motion alerts sent to your smartphone so you’re always in the know.

If you’ve never subscribed to Amazon Music before (or have in the past 12 months), the retailer is currently giving away five whole months of Amazon Music Unlimited completely free in honor of Amazon Music’s 10th anniversary. Amazon Music Unlimited offers access to over 100 million songs and podcasts ad-free, on-demand and in high-quality streaming audio. You’ll have to pay £9.99 per month once your trial ends, but you can cancel the subscription before it expires if you don’t want to continue your subscription. The deal ends on July 18 (the day after Prime Day).
Audible: Was £7.99 per month, now free for 3 months, Amazon.co.uk
Audiobook subscription service Audible is currently offering three months free to Amazon Prime subscribers who have never had Audible before (or have had Audible in the past 12 months). You can listen to thousands of handpicked Audible Originals, podcasts and audiobooks. Once your trial ends, an Audible subscription costs £7.99 per month, which covers one audiobook (per month) plus the above. The offer ends on 31 July.
When do Prime Day deals start on Amazon devices?
While Amazon launched a flood of early Prime Day deals ahead of the official Prime Day start, Prime Day officially kicked off on Tuesday, July 16 at 12:01 AM and will last for 48 hours, ending at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, July 17. The retailer announced that deals on its home security gadgets (that’s Ring doorbells) would begin on July 10, while deals on its Fire TV would begin on July 12.
