While we don’t often see direct sales from Apple, we do regularly see discounts on Apple gear from other retailers, including Amazon. Now that Prime Day 2024 is officially here, Apple discounts have gotten even sweeter, with many reaching new lows.
You won’t find any iPhones or HomePods among these Prime Day deals (Amazon would much rather you bought an Echo), but here are the best Prime Day Apple deals on just about everything the company sells — most of which are getting an upgrade this fall with the software updates announced at WWDC. If you’ve been waiting for a good sale to buy AirPods, iPads, MacBooks, or other Apple gear, these Prime Day Apple deals are the ones to shop for now.
As with all Engadget tech deals coverage, we only highlight discounts on gear we’ve tested or otherwise used and know is worth your money. We compared our guides and reviews with the Prime Day deals Amazon has released to come up with what you see here. And we’ll be updating these deal roundups throughout the two days of Amazon’s Prime Day sale.
Best Apple Watch Prime Day Deals

The latest Apple Watch has been dropped to $280 for Prime Day, down from its suggested retail price of $399. The Series 9 was announced at Apple’s iPhone event last fall, and there’s a good chance we’ll see a new model this year, but it likely won’t be quite as affordable.
The Apple Watch Series 9 is our favorite smartwatch overall, our top pick for an Apple Watch, and earned a 92 in our review . It’s great for tracking health and fitness, has a bright always-on display, and integrates seamlessly with your iPhone. It’s also getting some cool new updates this fall with watchOS 11, which Apple announced at WWDC.

The Apple Watch SE is the budget model in the lineup, and it’s now down to $170. It retailed for $189 in recent months. We recommend it for those looking for excellent iPhone notification integration and solid health tracking capabilities. It doesn’t have all the sensors like the Apple Watch Series 9, but as we said in our review, you get a lot of features for the money.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is on sale for $699.99 for Prime Day, down from Apple’s $799 suggested retail price. As we said in our Apple Watch buyer’s guide , this is the watch for adventurers or anyone who needs a bigger screen in a more rugged body. It has a 49mm display, cellular and GPS connectivity, and a few features you won’t find on other Apple watches, like a dive depth meter and a siren.

Prime Day slashed the latest AirPods Pro from $249 to $170. They’ve regularly hit $189 in recent months, and $180 is the lowest we’ve seen it previously. The AirPods Pro are the current recommendation for iOS users in our best earbuds guide thanks to their excellent Transparency mode, seamless iPhone and Siri integration, and solid noise cancellation. They’re getting an update soon that will let you nod or shake your head in response to Siri’s queries.

The third-generation AirPods are now at a record low $120, down from their full price tag of $169. We gave these an 88 in our review thanks to their improved design and audio. Note that they have an older chip and lack active noise cancellation, but they are water resistant and more affordable than the Pro model.

Apple’s over-ear headphones, the AirPods Max, currently cost $394, down from their list price of $549. The lowest price we’ve tracked for these was $430. These earned an 84 in our review when they released in 2020.
The biggest drawback was the price, but we appreciated the excellent, balanced sound and the capable active noise cancellation (ANC). And we got 20 hours of use out of the headphones on a single charge, just as Apple promises.

We called the new iPad Air “the iPad to get” in our May review , and it’s the Apple tablet we recommend most to people in our buyer’s guide. Right now, the 11-inch model with 128GB of storage is down to $559 thanks to Amazon’s sale. That’s the biggest discount we’ve seen. You can pick up the 13-inch version for just $738.
The new iPad Air houses the M2 chip, making it fast enough for everyday productivity and capable of more than just casual entertainment. The screen is bright and sharp, and the camera has thankfully been moved to the landscape edge.

Apple
Apple launched two sizes of the new iPad Pro, each packing the latest M4 chip in May. Currently, the Pro tablet is the only Apple hardware to feature the company’s latest silicon. For Prime Day, you can get your hands on the 11-inch iPad Pro with 256GB of storage for $919, down from its suggested retail price of $999.
The 13-inch model with the same capacity has been dropped to $1,198 from its full sticker price of $1,299. Before that, the biggest discounts we saw were $70 and $100 on the two models, respectively. We were impressed with the iPad Pro’s great display and screamingly powerful performance, as you can see in our review, but called it “prohibitively expensive.” This discount may change things a bit.

The standard iPad wasn’t replaced at Apple’s iPad event in May, so the 10th-generation iPad is still the most current. Prime Day pricing brings it down to a record low of $299. With the launch of the new Pro and Air models, Apple permanently dropped the list price to $349. We gave it an 85 review score following its October 2022 launch. It’s also the budget pick in our iPad buying guide.

The iPad mini is the smallest tablet in Apple’s lineup — it hasn’t been replaced this year, either — and now Amazon has slashed the price to $380 for Prime Day. The lowest price we previously tracked was $380 during last year’s sale, and the MSRP is $499. The Mini is our pick for one-handed use in our iPad guide, and is best for those who want something they can easily throw in a bag or use as a highly capable e-reader.

Best Prime Day MacBook Deals

The latest MacBook Air models with the M3 chip have been slashed to $850 for the 13-inch model and $1,049 for the 15-inch size. Before that, the lowest prices we’ve tracked were $899 and $1,129, respectively. Apple released the new MacBook Air models in March, and as we noted in our review , they’re not huge departures from the previous generation — though that’s not a bad thing. The 13-inch version remains our top recommendation for most people in our buying guide.

The M3-equipped MacBook Pros arrived late last year and firmly established themselves as the ideal notebooks for professionals. For Prime Day, Amazon is selling the 14-inch model with the M3 chip, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for $1,399 after discounts. The 16-inch Pro with the M3 Pro chip, 18GB of storage and 512GB SSD now costs $1,999, down from its suggested retail price of $2,499. We gave both the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops a 90 score in our reviews when they debuted, praising their great displays, speedy chips and solid port selection.

Apple is keeping the 2022 M2-enabled MacBook Air on sale for now — and that’s a good thing. We think it’s the best budget MacBook you can buy. Right now, an 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage configuration is marked down to $799 for Prime Day, beating Apple’s $999 price tag. It has a bright display, good performance, and a thin, portable design.

The Apple AirTag is our pick for a Bluetooth tracker for iPhone users. It taps into Apple’s extensive Find My network to track missing items, calling on nearby iPhones to anonymously ping and triangulate its position. Right now, a single tag is $24 down from its suggested retail price of $29, making it one of the best Prime Day deals under $25 this year.

If you’re buying one of Apple’s new iPads and want a compatible Apple Pencil, you’ll need either the Apple Pencil Pro or the Apple Pencil USB-C. The Apple Pencil Pro is currently priced at $119 for Prime Day. It adds new features like pinch, roll, and haptic feedback, and can be charged by magnetically attaching it to the side of the new iPad models. The Apple Pencil USB-C has dropped to $69 after the Prime Day discount. It only charges via USB-C, but can be attached magnetically for storage. It works with the new iPad Air and Pro models, as well as previous-generation iPad models, which you can check out here . The second-generation Apple Pencil works with most recent previous-generation iPads, and lets you magnetically store and charge the Pencil on the side of your tablet.
