Discontinued chocolate bar that fans say is ‘a gift from God’ is back on shelves

Over the years, many of our favorite snacks have been eaten too soon: chips and cookies have been eliminated, and we’ve lost some of the best chocolate bars (RIP Mars Delight).

But what really hurt was the discontinuation of Milky Way Crispy Rolls. Mars stopped producing them in the UK in April 2022.

It was a sad day for many who loved the snack of their childhood: a waffle with a creamy filling, covered in soft chocolate.

Earlier this year, the sweet treat was spotted on the shelves of Home Bargains again, as the retailer sold bars that appeared to have been imported from Greece.

At the time, the pack of two crispy rolls cost 79p each and fans loved them.

If you missed it then we have good news for you as multipacks are now being sold in store and they are a bargain. The six pack costs £1.99 but they were recently on sale for 99p as part of a Star Buy promotion.

Photos of the packaging were shared on Instagram by @new.foodfindsuk and on Facebook in the Food Finds UK group, where over 1,000 people shared their joy at seeing the chocolate back on shelves.

Many were keen to stock up on their favourite chocolate, with Victoria Coe writing: ‘Someone please buy me five boxes.’ As Louise Reid said: ‘I’ve got to go to the shops.’ [Home Bargains] ASAP man. They’re beautiful.’

“I need about 20 boxes, we need to find these,” Jess Morris shouted, while Olivia Roberts joked she was “going to buy the shelf”. Others called the snack a “gift from God”, “yummy” and “so f***ing good”.

However, a few buyers were disappointed with their purchase, claiming that the bars did not taste the same as the original bars.

‘Not the same as the previously discontinued ones… they taste nasty,’ said Annemarie Davies, while Harryson Hollins thought they were ‘not as good’.

This isn’t the only popular snack to have become popular again recently. Cadbury has relaunched an iconic chocolate bar from the 90s.

First launched in 1993, Top Deck features classic Dairy Milk chocolate on the bottom and a generous layer of ‘creamy’ white chocolate on top.

The bars disappeared from the shelves in the late 1990s, but have recently become available in South Africa and have become extremely popular there.

The iconic chocolate bar is back as part of the brand’s 200th anniversary. The packaging is vintage and inspired by the original bar, creating a nostalgic moment and a trip back in time for 90s babies.

Shoppers can find them in Tesco supermarkets and Booker, as well as various other retailers across the country. A 110g bar costs £1.85, although stores are free to set their own prices.

It’s not yet known how long the Top Deck bars will be available in the UK, so if you’re a fan you’ll need to be quick.
