A foodie told how surprised he was to see his partner’s food served on a red plate, instead of the usual Wetherspoons blue plate.

The woman uploaded a photo of the unexpected crockery to Reddit and captioned it: “My friend got a red plate in Wetherspoons.”

They added: “Spoons and plates are always blue, I’ve never seen a red one.”

And she’s not the only one who’s had one over the years. Others claim it’s happened to them, too.

People were quick to respond miracle at the miracle, with one writing: “🚨 YOU HAVE THE RED SIGN! 🚨.”

A second commented: “If you get the red plate in spoons, take it to the bar and you get a free drink.”

And a former Spoons employee said he never saw one when he worked at the chain.

But what does this mean?

Someone suggested, “Are you their millionth customer?”

And someone wrote: “I think you accidentally ended up in an alternate dimension.”

Wetherspoons brings back ‘legendary’ item to all 809 locations – but you’ll have to be quick

Fortunately, a Wetherspoons spokesperson cleared up the mystery to the Daily Star.

They said: “Wetherspoon has trialled a red plate in a small number of cases pubs for use with children’s meals, so that all children’s meals are served on a cold plate.

‌”The company has since gone further and just launched a melamine board for the entire children’s menu, which ties in with the design of the children’s menu.

‌”But there will be stock of the old red plate in circulation until they break.

“There are no plans to deviate from the standard blue pattern on the license plate anytime soon.”

We told how Wetherspoons has added four new drinks to its menu in a major reorganization. This will undoubtedly be appreciated by customers.

The pub chain has added new drinks to its main offering.

And it’s good news for people who do not drink or want to reduce their alcohol consumption, as they are all low alcohol or alcohol-free in nature.

Fans can now buy Corona Cero, Thatchers Zero %, Guinness 0.0 and Adnams Ghost Ship in all 809 Wetherspoons stores.

Corona Cero is an alcohol-free beer from Corona, brewed with 100 percent natural ingredients.

For those who love the taste of cider but don’t want alcohol, Thatchers Zero % is a twist on the classic apple cider.

Guinness 0.0 has the same smooth taste, balanced flavor and unique dark color as Guinness, just without the alcohol.

Adnams Ghost Ship is a low-alcohol version of the citrus pale ale from the Southwold brewery.

These drinks join the six other low and no alcohol drinks already on the Wetherspoons menu, including Heineken 0.0.

How to save money at Wetherspoons

WETHERSPONS is known for its low prices, but there are ways to spend even more money at the chain.

Every year Spoons organizes its Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub sector.

It usually takes place in September and last year it fell on Thursday, September 14th.

In addition to the 12-day Real Ale Festival each autumn, Wetherspoons also hosts a Spring Festival.

Wetherspoons is known for its meal deals that are valid all week long.

These include the Steak Club on Tuesdays, the Curry Club on Thursdays and Fish Friday.

For example, a standard curry club meal with an alcoholic drink costs between £8.55 and £9.19.

Outside of the deal, you would expect to pay about five euros more for the same meal.

You can enjoy bottomless brews all day long in participating Wetherspoons pubs with the purchase of one hot drink.

The offering includes Tetley teas and a range of Lavazza coffees including a flat white, latte, cappuccino and Americano.

Prices start from just £99 but may vary depending on your location.
