But bosses revealed the store will close its doors for the final time in the coming months, although no exact date has been announced.

Devastated staff announced the closure to customers in a heartbreaking social media post earlier today.

In it, bosses explained that the store had to close due to ‘personal reasons’, but thanked everyone for their support.

All staff have also reportedly lost their jobs during the “very stressful and upsetting time”.

Announcing the news on Facebook, the shop owner said: “It is with absolute sadness that I announce the closure of my shop That Special Day Bridal for personal reasons.

“However, I am so grateful to every customer who has walked through our doors and given me and my staff the pleasure of being part of your special day.

“The memories, fun and friendships we have built over the past ten years will stay with us forever.

“With thousands of customers on our books, there are certainly many wonderful memories to remember.

“I will never quite know how far we have come with the store and will always look back with fondness and be forever proud.

“TSD was never just a company, it was never just selling a dress. For me and my employees it was so much more than that.

“It was about supporting our customers and helping them accept that they are beautiful and that they can wear the most beautiful dress that matches how beautiful they are, regardless of their size, gender or even the expectations of others.

“Giving them a place where they can feel safe and non-judgmental and where they can be themselves so they can make the right clothing decision for them.

“It was also about being there for our customers from the moment they step into our store until their special day.

“From day 1, our main goal was to deliver the ultimate bridal experience, and while the ‘say yes’ mocktails and all the little extras were beautiful, it was the memories we helped create that are most special to all of us.”

Bosses also revealed that the store is launching a huge closing sale starting this Saturday.

All inventory will be reduced by 30 percent and customers will need an appointment if they want to visit this weekend.

However, prospective brides and grooms who have something in mind no longer need to make an appointment from Tuesday, July 2.

Bosses added: “We’re launching a closing sale and estimate it will take around six to eight weeks to clear our stock, so you’ve got us for a few more months.

“We have ALL THE WEDDING DRESSES on sale, bridesmaid dresses, flower girls, shoes, bridal accessories, jewelry, tiaras, mother of the bride outfits and much more.

“Please be patient with us over the coming days as we begin preparing for the sale, which we hope will take place in store on Saturday 29 June.

‘DO NOT PANIC’

BOSSES at That Special Day Bridal have confirmed that all orders placed are being fulfilled as planned.

Staff wrote online: “To customers with pending orders… Firstly, there is no need to panic.

“Most orders are now in the store and you should have been contacted by now to report this and make an appointment to collect your order.

“There are a few customers we haven’t been able to reach or who haven’t responded.

“If you have not yet arranged a collection date, please send us a small message to do so.

“We have about 15 orders in store over the next three weeks.

“Most of them should be in stores by Friday of this week.

“We remain fully committed to completing all orders for our brides, so don’t worry if your order isn’t in store yet as it will be here very soon.”

“If you already have an appointment, don’t worry, it’s still going ahead. All stock is being reduced by 30 percent, so if you’ve got your eye on one of our dresses, now’s your chance to get it at a great discount.

“The liquidation sale is a walk-in event, but ONLY this Saturday and Sunday we will be by appointment. From Tuesday, July 2 until the end of the liquidation sale we will be by appointment, so no appointment is necessary.

“As you will understand, we will be swamped in the coming days. Please be patient and have a little more patience than usual as we plan and organize the closure while managing current orders.

‘This is also a very stressful and worrying time for our employees, who have been given the sad news that they will lose their jobs.

“When you call us, please keep this in mind and treat staff with respect and understanding.

“Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to run TSD for the past 10 years. Lots of love always.”
