Tesco, Asda and Morrisons are recalling more than 60 products over E. coli fears – full list

More than 60 food products have been hastily recalled by manufacturers amid concerns over a possible E. coli outbreak that has left people hospitalized across the UK.

Multiple food warnings from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) have explained the recent recalls. Yesterday (Sunday June 16) manufacturer THIS! became the latest in line to recall a product as a “precautionary measure” during this food safety crisis.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the FSA has announced that the manufacturer has initiated a recall for its Chicken and Bacon Wrap. Sold exclusively at WHSmith, the packaging was pulled due to a “possible contamination” with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli.

Customers have been warned that the dates in question will run until Tuesday, June 18. If you have the affected products, you can immediately return them to the store for a full refund, even if you do not provide a receipt.

This follows closely on the heels of manufacturers Greencore Group and Samworth Brothers Manton Wood withdrawing from the shelves a number of sandwiches, wraps and salads often sold in major UK supermarkets due to a possible E. coli outbreak.

Greencore is recalling several products from their stores, including sandwiches, wraps and salads sold at Sainbury’s, Asda, Aldi, Morrisons, Co-op and pharmacy chain Boots. A full list can be found below.

Darren Whitby, head of incidents at the Food Standards Agency, said: “Sandwich manufacturers are taking a precautionary step to recall a range of sandwiches, wraps and salads in response to findings from investigations by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Food Standards Scotland (FSS) and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), who are working to identify the cause of an ongoing outbreak caused by Shiga toxin-producing E.coli (Stec).”
