GTA San Andreas The Definitive Edition has great interest from players on PS Plus

Using a sample of gameplay data from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts (thanks to our partnership with GameInsights), we tracked the number of debuts of each PS Plus game through 2024. This includes PS Plus Extra’s Grand Theft Auto San Andreas The Definitive Edition, which has been added to the PS Plus Extra games catalog at Friday June 7, 2024.
No later than Thursday, June 13, 2024, The number of PS5 and PS5 players of GTA San Andreas The Definitive Edition was up 980.66% compared to last week’s data.
The number of players is increasing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas the biggest new addition to the line-up of PS Plus Extra and Premium Days of Play 2024 bonus games, surpassing the previous leader Dredging with 29.79% more PS5 and PS4 players.

That moves San Andreas ranked fifth in our top 10 biggest PS Plus Extra games of 2024. The top 10 list now includes two major entries from Rockstar Games, with Red Dead Redemption 2 is still well above GTA San Andrea‘s player count with 14.38% more players.
While player numbers for PS Plus Extra in May 2024 initially looked pretty bad, the staggered launch of Dredging And Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas helped significantly improve the performance of last month’s announced games. While the April 2024 lineup previously outperformed the May lineup by 23.49%, only 9.64% more players now checked out the April PS Plus lineup.
It seems that despite the game’s initial shaky reception, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas The Definitive Edition has managed to attract a large number of PS Plus players in the past week. It shows how powerful the GTA brand is.
It seems like adding an entry from this franchise to your subscription schedule (even if it’s a poorly received port of an all-time PS2 classic) is an easy way to get players to renew their subscriptions for another month.
Now we just have to see how the new June 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium games fare in their bid to win over PS5 and PS4 players. I suspect this month’s lineup might not be as successful without the support of Rockstar games, but who knows what tricks Sony has up its sleeve. Have you checked out?
