People have unleashed new fears after a woman shares the theory that we never really die

A TikToker has opened up about her theory on why we never really die, and it’s scaring people.

You know that feeling after a night out where you go back to a friend’s house and sit there until the early hours, talking about random and slightly bizarre ideas or experiences so often that you feel like you’re in a alternate reality and question the meaning of life? No? Only me?

Not many people actually want to die. While some believe in heaven or the afterlife, others aren’t sure what happens after death and, honestly, it can be terrifying.

But the idea of living forever and your back and hips becoming even more unreliable, your memory fading further, well that certainly doesn’t really appeal either.

And the question of life and eternal life is something that has caused people to think about topics like quantum immortality.

In layman’s terms this means that people never die, but in reality it is much more complicated than that.

The theory suggests that humans’ consciousness never truly dies, but it means we may have experienced countless apocalypses and extinction events.

It’s enough to fuel your existential dread for months, so – with that in mind – let’s learn a little more about it, shall we?

The theory has been explained by many people, but we’re going to focus on TikTok user @joli.artist as she discussed the idea of quantum immortality, as well as American physicist Hugh Everett’s ‘many worlds’ theory.

He suggested that there are countless other worlds and other realities, and that when we die we simply pass on to another.

In her TikTok video, Joli suggested that there’s a chance we’ll “never really die” and that we had experienced the end of the world before.

“Every time you die in one universe, your consciousness is simply transferred to another universe where you survive,” she said.

That’s the idea here in a nutshell.

Of course it’s much more complicated than that, involving a lot of math and science, but we’re working on some words here, and honestly, it’s actually quite difficult and boring.

Joli explained how – if there is anything to this theory – we would not remember the previous world we transitioned to, but might have some basic memories – much like the Mandela Effect.

“So after the inevitable apocalypse happens, you’ll wake up the next day in a new reality, and before you know it, you’ll find yourself on Reddit talking about ‘since when did Pizza Hut have two T’s?’” she explained.

“Arguing with people who come from this new reality, talking about ‘has it always had two Ts?’”

Joli added: “Don’t you believe me? Okay, it’s been about 65 million years since the asteroids would have taken out the dinosaurs.

“So you’re telling me that no other asteroids have come through and taken us out in the last 65 million years?

“What I’m saying is that the Earth is probably always shutting down, and our consciousness keeps being transferred to another parallel universe – and then another, and another.

“For all you know, the apocalypse probably happened last night…”

Either way, the very idea confuses some people.

“DO NOT SERVE TODAY,” said one comment.

“Okay, I’m actually panicking a little now because I’m not much of a conspiracy type, but you are eerily logical,” said another.

“The thought of never actually dying is extremely depressing and gives me a headache,” a third added.

Yeah, you can just rock me to sleep tonight.
