Allwyn, the lottery operator, confirmed the windfall after the must-win draw on June 8.

Andy Carter, senior winners advisor at the National Lottery, said he is “thrilled that this incredible Lotto jackpot prize has been claimed.

“This cardholder kept us guessing for a few days before stepping forward, but now with £11.4 million in his bank account, sky‘is the limit’.

Tickets can be purchased online from 6am to 11pm every day, with a cut-off time of 7:30pm on draw days.

This month, three Lotto players have already joined the millionaires’ club, raising hopes of another life-changing moment with an estimated jackpot of £3.9 million on the horizon for Saturday’s draw, June 15.

Carter added: “We stand ready to support our newest jackpot winner on this life-changing journey.

“With another £3.9 million up for grabs, we may soon welcome a new Lotto millionaire to the club.”

Remember to gamble responsibly

Here are our tips to help you gamble responsibly:

Monitor your gaming: You can view your game history by clicking “My Account” and then “History”. This space can help you keep track of your gambling activities as you can see the history of your play. This feature allows you to choose a time frame and all your bets within that period will be shown. Similarly, you can track your bingo habits under the “My Bingo History” sub-tab. You can also view your deposit and withdrawal history.

The Set Limits page allows players to take proactive steps to monitor and control their time and money when playing with Sun Bingo.

Deposit limits: Some players like to set deposit limits. You can set daily, weekly or monthly limits.

Reality check: The “Reality Check” feature is designed to remind you of the time you spent logging into your account.

You can set reminders for every 10, 30, 60 or 120 minutes.

Time-out: If you want to pause your online gaming completely, you may first want to try the “Timeout” feature, which allows you to take a break from your account at any time. You can set the timeout period from 24 hours to six weeks. Your account will be automatically reactivated after the timeout expires. However, please note that there is no option to reopen the account before the set period has expired

Self-exclusion from accounts: Similar to the timeout option, self-exclusion allows you to deactivate your account for six to sixty months. Please note that if you select this option, the account cannot be reopened until the set period has expired.

A responsible gambler is someone who:

  • Sets time and money limits before playing
  • Only gambles with money they can afford to lose
  • Never chases their losses
  • Does not gamble when upset, angry or depressed
