ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ hints and answers for Thursday, June 13

Hello everyone! The weekend is just around the corner, but first we have one more round Connections to wrap up the game’s first anniversary week.

Today NYT Connections hints and answers emerge immediately.

Play connections

In Connections, you will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like horror movie franchises, some kind of verb, or rappers.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the hardest to figure out. The purple group often involves puns, so keep that in mind.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to having the right group, you might see a message saying that you’re one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections answers are…

  • Yellow group — writing assignments (ARTICLE, ESSAY, PAPER, REPORT)
  • Green group – things that are pink (CHEWING GUM, ANIER, GUM, FLAMINGO)
  • Blue Group – NATO Phonetic Alphabet (FOXTROT, HOTEL, VICTOR, YANKEE)
  • Purple Group — Associated with No. 2 (AD, DEREK JETER, PENCIL, SILVER MEDAL)

I failed again in my attempt to play a perfect game, but my overall winning streak has increased to 24.

I quickly got the yellow group, followed by the blue. Then I encountered a small problem. I had an inkling of the purple connection, but was slightly off with a guess on DEPUTY, DEREK JETER, SILVER MEDAL, and CARNATION.

I then managed to correct my glaring mistake (even though I could never have just guessed Derek Jeter’s jersey number), leaving me with the greens. I wouldn’t necessarily say that erasers are pink, while bubble gum comes in all kinds of colors, so I wasn’t a big fan of this group.

That’s all it takes for today Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the solution for Saturday’s game if you need it.

PS Today is the day of the big clash between Germany and Scotland to open the 2024 European Championship. I can no longer postpone the recording of this classic. Decorate some tartan, break out the shortbread and whiskey and sing it out loud with me:
