All four iPhone 15 models feature a setting that prevents the devices from charging more than 80% while turned on, which could potentially extend an iPhone battery life by shortening the time it takes to fully charge. And with iOS 18, Apple has taken this feature one step further by adding new charge limit options of 85%, 90%, and 95%.
The feature can be found in the Settings app under Battery → Charging.
The charge limit feature remains exclusive to the iPhone 15 series in the first beta of iOS 18, with the option not found on the iPhone 14 Pro or older.
The first beta of iOS 18 is now available to Apple Developer Program members, with a public beta to follow in July. After beta testing, the update should be widely available in September to all users with an iPhone XS or newer.
