Samsung lowers Galaxy Watch 6 price in new promotion

Samsung is busy preparing a major update for Galaxy Watch owners that will bring a slew of new AI features to older smartwatches. In the meantime, the company has also reduced the price of the Galaxy Watch 6 ahead of the rollout.

Shoppers in Britain can buy the Galaxy Watch 6 or Watch 6 Classic for £75 ($21.59) less, which now comes to £324.00 ($412.13). This is combined with a trade-in value of up to £175 ($222.60) for your old smartwatch. The highest-rated items that Samsung accepts are, of course, Apple Watches. Particularly the Apple Watch Ultra.

The reason for the price cut could be that Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy Watch 7 at its Galaxy Unpacked event next month. New rumors this week suggest that the Korean company is planning to release 40mm and 44mm sizes, such as the Galaxy Watch 6 range, but also a brand new Ultra model, which is said to have a 47mm titanium case mm has.

The standard Watch 6 isn’t discounted, but I suspect it will be given how close we are to launch. If you’re thinking about getting the Watch 6 Classic deal, it’s worth waiting until at least after the launch event on July 10.

US shoppers can now get in on the action with a new discount on the Watch 6. Samsung has got $60 off the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, in addition to higher trade-in prices, up to $250 for the Apple Watch Series 8 or GalaxyWatch 5 Pro.

The company has also offered Galaxy Buds at a discount as part of a bundle deal, taking them from $299.99 to $99. As usual with Samsung’s earbuds, they are used as a middleman in bundle deals, or are often discounted, so you should never have to pay full price for them.

Elsewhere, Samsung continues its Galaxy S24 Ultra dual storage offering. Buyers get a 512GB storage option for the price of the 256GB model. Samsung has now combined this with an improved trade-in price of up to $750.

To get that, you’ll have to give up last year’s Galaxy S23 Ultra, which isn’t worth it considering the new AI tools the device recently got. But S21 Ultra users can earn a very good $550 for their handset, while iPhone 13 Pro users can get a decent $350 for their phone.

There is a good chance that Samsung will lower prices for existing wearables even further to make room for the new technology. Or, if you want the latest device, the company will have some aggressive pre-order deals with higher trade-in prices and a bundled freebie (which will likely be a free pair of Galaxy Buds).

Those same Galaxy Buds are also currently bundled with all Galaxy S24 purchases. However, this isn’t as impressive as other recent Samsung deals in the UK. Last month, the company offered massive discounts on almost all of the Galaxy phones in its range, with the discount on select handsets dropping between 22% and 38%.

If you’re a current Galaxy Watch owner and don’t want to upgrade, Samsung plans to roll out some new AI features via One UI 6: the first major update in a while for Samsung wearables. At the heart of the update are improved recommendations based on personalized health data, with new AI-powered skills for more accurate sleep, health and exercise tracking. The new tools may offset some of the desire to buy Samsung’s latest shiny new toy, so keep an eye out for the update.
