Harry Potter Quidditch Champions Game Release Date Announced

Quidditch Champions, the Harry Potter game about the magical sport, will launch on September 3, 2024. The news was announced today during Summer Game Fest.

The game will launch that day on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Intriguingly, it will be available via PlayStation Plus at launch, but there’s no word on Game Pass. Quidditch Champions costs $30 USD. For the PlayStation Plus release, subscribers can get the game as part of their membership between September 3 and 30.

Quidditch Champions features “iconic Wizarding World locations, characters and references that fans will love,” according to Warner Bros. Players can take on the role of a Beater, Chaser, Keeper or Seeker.

There are multiple stages to choose from, from Weasely Burrow to the Quidditch World Cup venue. Warner Bros. also announced that people who own Hogwarts Legacy will get the Bonus Legacy Pack, which includes a variety of bonuses.

“Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions gives fans the opportunity to delve further into the Harry Potter world with the thrill of playing this beloved, fantastic sport,” said Warner Bros. game boss David Haddad. in a release. “The team has worked to capture the spirit of Quidditch, including iconic characters and never-before-seen areas of the wizarding world.”

Quidditch Champions was announced in April 2023 and playtests have already taken place. It is described as a “fast-paced, online multiplayer game” with solo and multiplayer gameplay.

It is the second Harry Potter game in as many years, following 2023’s hugely successful Hogwarts Legacy. It was the best-selling game in the US in 2023, even surpassing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

Qudditch Champions is developed by Unbroken Studios. Although controversial author JK Rowling is not personally involved in its development, she does benefit from its success.
