Police say they are now looking for two people who fled the scene of the accident.

The shocking clip shows the car skidding on the road, hitting the curb and crashing into a house before rolling over and crashing through a garden fence and a canopy next door.

It eventually comes to a stop on its side in front of one of the houses before three occupants get out of the car in Park Lane, Little Horton.

A pile of rubble remains as stunned locals leave their homes to inspect the damage.

A homeowner affected by the crash – who did not want to be named – said she witnessed the men crawling out of the car “like cockroaches”.

She said: “It was about 6.15pm. They were driving and revving the engine, and the car just hit the lot.

“He turned upside down and hit our house… They must have been going at least 60 mph. There are so many residents here that they could have hit children.

“Luckily no one was hurt, but they crawled out of the car like little cockroaches.

“At the end of the day, they didn’t care. They walked around for a while. They put on their hoods and walked away.

“There was no concern for the safety of anyone and I fear they will face no consequences for their actions.

“If he had been even three feet away he would have crashed into the door.

“We had to evacuate the building. The fire department told us ‘you need to get out in case there is structural damage’.”

Her husband said: ‘You could hear the engine revving from the road.

“Our family was upstairs, my daughter was playing and my son, I was playing a game of FIFA, when I heard what sounded like two cars breaking down.

“There was a huge thud and you felt the building shaking. It was shocking.

“I looked outside and you saw the car on its side in front of our neighbor’s house.”

Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene, but fortunately no one was injured in the crash.

The man said firefighters responded “pretty quickly and very quickly.”

He said they turned off all gas and electricity lines and then evacuated their family from the house to assess its safety.

The man added: ‘I’m surprised the car held together so well.

“He hit two metal frame gates but kept going before stopping.

“It’s insane to cause so much damage to these properties.

“We are grateful that everything is fine. It’s better that the car hit the building.

‘We were just lucky that no one got hurt. We could so easily have been killed.

“When the crash happened at 6:15 p.m., that’s the best time for us to take out the trash for the next day.

“Our neighbors could have sat outside or worked in the yard.”

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to Park Lane at 6.16pm last night to reports a vehicle had crashed into a house.

“It was reported that two occupants of the vehicle left the scene before police arrived.

“Research is underway to locate them.”
