You’ve heard of a room with a view, but for just under £600,000 you can have your own room with toilet.
When a three-bedroom home in leafy Wimbledon debuted on property site Rightmove this week, it looked like the perfect family home in every way.
The £575,000 detached property in south-west London comes complete with three generous bedrooms and a spacious open-plan living area with plenty of natural light.
For all its charm, one feature of the house has attracted a lot of attention: a bedroom with an open toilet.
The spacious nook, shamefully dubbed ‘bedroom one’, has enough space for a double bed and desk before the carpet spills out to reveal the hidden porcelain quarry.
Or maybe not so hidden, because the bath, sink and toilet are not separated from the rest of the room by a wall and are therefore completely out in the open for everyone to see (and presumably smell).
The property, which is being advertised by Savills, is described as a ‘three bedroom detached house, benefiting from a rear garden, in need of modernisation.’
The bathroom is not mentioned in the advertisement.

One user flagged the house on social media and scoffed: ‘Can we talk about bedroom 1 on the floor plan?’
When one person saw the monster in the room, another expressed disbelief, saying, “You could do a puppet show for the person in bed while he’s sitting on the toilet.”
Another laughed: ‘Imagine paying over half a million for that.’
“You mean you don’t want your whole bedroom to be damp all the time?” asked another.
Earlier this week, eagle-eyed browsers discovered something very different on another Rightmove listing.
But while the Purplebricks listing contains 13 nondescript photos of the property, photo 14 shows disturbing graffiti sprayed across the front of the house.
Written in blue spray paint on the front walls and door frame – the words “pedo” and “nonce” can be seen on what was once the former home of a convicted sex offender.
Described as a ‘stunning’ three-bedroom property ‘nestled in a popular and convenient location’, this listing appears to be an ideal purchase for a potential buyer.
Located in Heol Cadifor, Swansea, Wales, the semi-detached house was put up for sale by Purplebricks Estate Agents for £125,000 and advertised on Rightmove yesterday.
The item description details how it is offered chain-free, meaning buyers can ‘seize the opportunity to secure your dream home’.
Far from being a ‘cosy retreat for relaxation or gatherings’, this house used to house vile pedophile Tommy Allington, who was jailed for 24 years after admitting to sexually abusing a baby himself and sharing the images with other pedophiles .
Swansea Crown Court heard how the 25-year-old primary school teacher assaulted a child persistent campaign of child sexual abuse, assault and rape.
The horrific ordeal only came to light after police received information about indecent images on Instagram and found a secret phone hidden in the attic of his home. Allington had downloaded more than 1,500 images of children being sexually abused.
