David Beckham has crept into Britain’s top ten richest athletes, led by Newcastle’s minority owners.
The Sunday Times Rich List 2024 has been revealed online, featuring some of Britain’s iconic athletes.
England skipper Harry Kane is included in the 40 under 40 list, which also includes Lewis Hamilton, Rory McIlroy and Anthony Joshua.
The Bayern Munich striker’s fantastic season on a personal level is only going to get better after scoring 45 goals in his first season in Germany so far.
But no active professional athlete comes even close to being in the top ten richest athletes in Britain.
Here, talkSPORT.com walks you through the list.
1. David and Simon Reuben and family – £24.977 billion (third overall)
The Indian-born brothers own a ten percent stake in Newcastle following the Saudi takeover of the club in 2021.
The family made their fortune in the metals business and next year their value will rise even further as they hope to open a business.

2. Sir Jim Ratcliffe – £23.519 billion (fourth overall)
The 71-year-old, who made his money in the chemicals sector, bought a 27.7 percent stake in Manchester United in February.
Ineos chief Ratcliffe is also the owner of French side Nice, having bought the Ligue 1 team in 2019.
Despite his place in the rankings, Britons’ wealth has actually declined since the publication of the 2023 Rich List – by more than £6 billion.
3. Daniel Kretinsky – £6 billion (33rd overall)
Known as the Czech Sphinx, Kretinsky owns significant stakes in West Ham.
He is also the largest shareholder in Royal Mail and even owns significant stakes in supermarket chain Sainsbury’s.
4. Bernie Ecclestone and family – £1.844 billion (92) in total
The 93-year-old Formula 1 magnate started his career as a driver, where he raced twice in the 1958 season.
He subsequently owned the Brabham team before becoming CEO of the Formula One Group.
And between 2007 and 2011 he was even co-owner of QPR alongside Flavio Briatore.
Ecclestone pleaded guilty to tax fraud in October, making a £652.6 million payment to ensure he escaped with a 17-month suspended sentence.
5. Mike Danson – £1.349 billion (125th overall)
The GlobalData billionaire is the owner of Rugby Super League side Wigan Warriors.
Over the past year he has raked in more than £36 million in share sales and dividends.
6. David Sullivan and family – £1.168 billion joint 150th total)
The 75-year-old is chairman of West Ham and the club’s largest shareholder following the death of David Gold.
Sullivan launched the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport, before selling the newspapers for £40 million in 2007.
7. Barry and Eddie Hearn and family – £900 million (joint 185th overall)
Barry launched Matchroom Sport in 1982, where he transformed the world of snooker and boxing.
His son Eddie has taken the promotion to the next level, overseeing the careers of boxers Joshua, Dmitry Bivol and Katie Taylor, to name a few.
8. Tony Bloom – £716 million (233rd overall)
Bloom is known as the owner of Brighton and has made his fortune in the real estate and gambling industries.
And he is known as a shrewd businessman, with the Seagulls’ sale of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea last season breaking the English record of £115 million.
9. Steve Gibson – £640 million (joint 253rd overall)
Gibson has been the owner and chairman of Middlesbrough since 1994.
A former Labor councilor at the age of 21, his logistics company Bulkhaul has made him a fortune over the decades.
10. David and Victoria Beckham – £455 million (joint 297th overall)
The Manchester United and England legend’s decision to sign Lionel Messi for his Inter Miami side has transformed the couple’s wealth over the past 12 months.
It has helped push the MLS company’s valuation to $1 billion [£789m].
Iconic Spice Girl Victoria now hosts catwalk shows during Paris Fashion Week and has just launched a clothing line for Spanish chain Mango.
The couple, whose portfolio is worth around £90 million, also starred in their own Netflix show – Beckham – which was the most watched documentary in the world last year.
Posh and Becks also held lucrative advertising roles, starring in TV spots for Uber Eats that aired during the Super Bowl in the US.
